Creating a supportive space for kids, teens & young adults

About Me

Hi there, I'm Christina! As a licensed mental health counselor, I'm passionate about helping young people and adults not just cope, but truly thrive. My work is focused on guiding you through the ups and downs of life, whether that's tackling anxiety, building social skills, or boosting self-esteem. I firmly believe in a strengths-based approach, which means we'll focus on the amazing qualities you already possess and use them as the foundation for growth.

I'm here to provide a non-judgmental and supportive environment where you can feel truly seen and heard. Through our collaborative work, we'll develop practical strategies and new perspectives to help you feel more confident and in control. I'll meet you where you are and together, we'll navigate the tricky parts of growing up and adulthood, helping you feel strong, capable, and ready for anything.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about therapy and what to expect when working together.

What can I expect in our first session?

+

The first session is mostly about getting to know each other. I'll ask questions about what brings you to therapy, your goals, and your background. We'll also talk through what therapy might look like together so you feel comfortable moving forward.

What kind of therapy do you practice?

+

Every client is unique, so I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, I draw upon several evidence-based methods and adapt them to fit your needs:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): A structured, goal-oriented approach that helps you identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors.
  • Mindfulness-Based Therapy: Techniques that promote present-moment awareness and acceptance, helping you manage stress and anxiety.
  • Person-Centered Therapy: A non-directive approach that empowers you to take the lead in your therapy journey, fostering self-discovery and personal growth.
  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy: A goal-directed approach that focuses on solutions and future possibilities rather than past problems.

By blending these approaches, I can tailor therapy to support your goals and what feels most helpful for you.

What issues do you specialize in treating?

+

I work with children, teens, and young adults who are navigating everyday challenges and big transitions. Many of my clients are looking for support with:

  • Focus and attention difficulties: Struggling to stay on task, manage distractions, or organize schoolwork
  • Managing anger and strong emotions: Learning to calm down, express feelings appropriately, and respond rather than react.
  • Social and communication challenges: Navigating friendships, understanding social cues, or building confidence in peer interactions.
  • Behavioral challenges: Difficulty following rules, completing tasks, or handling transitions.
  • Coping skills and emotional regulation: Developing tools to manage stress, frustration, or anxiety in daily life.
  • Impulse control difficulties: Challenges with acting without thinking or managing urges in healthy ways.
  • Life transitions and changes: Adjusting to new schools, jobs, routines, or family situations.
  • Peer relationships and social confidence: Building friendships, managing conflict, and feeling comfortable in social settings.
  • Stress management: Strategies for handling school pressures, extracurriculars, and daily demands.

I provide a safe, supportive space where kids and teens can build confidence, strengthen relationships, and develop practical tools to manage emotions and behaviors. My approach is collaborative, so parents are often involved in ways that support their child’s progress while respecting their independence.
